Frequently Asked Questions
Practical details about working together
Yes. I offer a brief 15-minute consultation call at no cost. This gives us a chance to discuss what you’re looking for, answer initial questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit before scheduling a full session.
After you reach out, I’ll respond with available consultation times or next steps for scheduling. If we decide to move forward, you’ll receive intake paperwork through my secure client portal before your first appointment.
The easiest way is through the contact form on this site. From there we’ll schedule a consultation or initial session depending on your preference and availability.
Fit includes feeling respected, understood, and appropriately challenged. The consultation call helps determine whether my style aligns with what you’re looking for. If it doesn’t, I’m happy to suggest other options.
Yes. Telehealth sessions are conducted through SimplePractice’s secure video platform, designed to protect confidentiality and privacy. Telehealth is available for individual therapy throughout California. Couples sessions are currently offered in person only.
In-person sessions are currently held at The Refinery Wellness in Palm Desert. Telehealth is available throughout California. My Palm Springs private practice office is launching Summer 2026.(https://www.methetherapist.com/https-docs-google-com-forms-d-e-1faipq)
Standard sessions are 50 minutes for both individual and couples therapy.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Frequency may adjust over time depending on your goals, progress, and scheduling needs.
I work with individuals who are exploring their relationship with alcohol or other substances, particularly when use is connected to stress, anxiety, depression, or avoidance patterns.
I do not provide detox services, court-mandated treatment, or intensive substance use programs. Clients requiring a higher level of care will be referred to specialized providers to ensure appropriate support.
Many people I work with don’t necessarily think of this as a specific issue at first, but notice its impact in other areas of their lives. Constant connectivity, social media, and the steady flow of information can contribute to distraction, comparison, and a sense of always being “on,” even when nothing urgent is happening.
Over time, this can affect focus, mood, relationships, and the ability to feel present. It’s not uncommon to feel mentally scattered, pulled in multiple directions, or disconnected from yourself in subtle ways.
This isn’t about eliminating technology or labeling it as a problem. It’s something we can explore as part of a broader process of understanding patterns, reducing overwhelm, and creating a more intentional relationship with your time, attention, and energy.
I provide outpatient psychotherapy and am not equipped for emergency or crisis response. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
Fees are discussed during consultation or scheduling. Payment is due at the time of service. I maintain a limited number of reduced-fee spaces based on financial need and availability.
Insurance acceptance varies depending on practice setting and supervision structure. Please contact me directly for current details. I can also provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Sessions canceled with less notice may be subject to the full session fee.
Progress in therapy often shows up as increased clarity, improved emotional regulation, more intentional decision-making, and shifts in longstanding patterns. Therapy is collaborative, and we regularly assess whether the work feels useful and aligned with your goals.
